NASCAR.
You're invisible to them. They will slam you into a wall, unintentionally spin you out, and slam into the back of you. It's some of the worst AI I've seen since in a long while.
I'm trying my best to avoid stepping into each other car's line. It doesn't matter. Be as careful as you want. Give them as much respect as you want. They'll slam into you and you'll find yourself scrambling to reset the race.
Since, like all GT6 races, you've only got a hilariously small number of laps, there's no coming back from it. You have to restart the race.
So, I just rage quit the game.
I hate their structured career mode. Because of the short laps you're either powering up your car so that it's much, much faster than the AI vehicles, or you're bullying the other cars out of the way as you rush to climb to first from last in such a short period of time. There isn't enough time for strategy, and thus the racing is never as engaging as it could be.

This is the secret to unlocking Gran Turismo's 'fun' mode.

At least they're somewhat constant in their lap times. Have you seen Forza oval racing? They AI can't handle oval and make so many mistakes causing a huge pileup every othe lap. By the end of the race you have 2 or 3 car few laps ahead because the others are too damaged to go fast.

Sound's like Forza 3's and 4's AI on any track to me. It's like you're not even there, until they make a move to pass you on the straight.

Online drifting is the only value that GT games have to me these days. The racing just isn't that fun anymore.

They're consistant because they're on their set racing line. They refuse to deviate from it.
I had a car slam into me on a wide straight away rather than drive around me, or, you know, slow down.

It's all about learning to master a single car through lap after lap of time attack.

Sounds just like Real Racing 3's AI to me, unless you were matched up against the very fastest bots (based on some people who stopped playing a good while ago), there was bound to be a massive pileup on turn 2 of the Indy Oval.

Good, I'm not the only one that spends (probably) 90% of my time in Gran Turismo perfectly lap times on random tracks in various cars. Its like a drug.....Always looking for that extra second.

I know your bashing Nascar and Gt here but that is one realistic looking screenshot.

i disagree.. i very rarely have other cars smack into me unless i suddenly slam the brakes when playing Forza.. Forza's AI also won't slam you off the track if you are located on the driving line unless being forced to for some reason

True, I'm also down with this practice. In fact my gt drifting evolved from single player free mode time attacks. I used to make big lists of what cars ran what times on a particular track. I still prefer comfort hard tires for my time attacks though. I just feel like they encourage more fine throttle control.

The best example of the AI in GT6. Skip to 12 seconds.

My appologies, I meant Nascar in gt not nascar itself.

Yep. I never came close to finishing career mode in GT5 because I spent all my time hotlapping.

Yeah I never understand people who complain about gt's AI, gt has always seemed to shine in its excellent time trial system.

You're right, like I said... Firing squad. For real though, it's something I've been working on trying to not do. So, I thank you for pointing my annoying mistake out. Have a star.
